HEALING FROM THE INSIDE OUT!
How is Massotherapy different VS other Massages?
Most massages “Fluff”skin and barely touch the muscles. Relaxation massage techniques like Swedish, some deep tissue, circulatory massage, lymph massage, craniosacral [etc] are used in mostly spa type settings. Therapist work to increase circulation and lymph flow, while stimulating the nervous systems to provide a relaxed state of alertness. Most Spa Therapists believe "massage" is for the sole purpose of pampering and should be performed with very light and flowing pressure. These types of massages are meant to be relaxing, calming and make clients feel sleepy. However, they do not relieve/alleviate pain or muscle soreness and will not help chronic issues, problem areas or medical conditions.
Massotherapy: is performed for the intent of improving conditions, problematic areas and/or pathologies sometimes diagnosed by a doctor/ physician. Using a wide variety of modalities or procedures utilized to focus the treatment based on the individual and/or diagnosed condition. A Problem-solution, “fixing," rehabilitative approach, while relaxing patients and reducing their stress, tension, anxiety and pain. Massotherapy teaches therapists how to design and incorporate the right combination of techniques for individuals medical conditions, problematic areas, daily aches and pains by using a series of advanced techniques, therapies and skills; rather than a "robotic" and/ or "repetitious" massage approach. A very common misconception is that a person has to have a problem, injury or medical condition in order to receive therapy. Massotherapy is very beneficial and healing for everyone, whether you have medical conditions, a problematic area or normal aches and pains and can be preformed on anyone, no matter what the age. It is considered to be preventive health care and prevention is one of the best medicines we have. Techniques used offer more overall wellness, benefit patients health, increases mobility, builds strength, and tones and firms muscles. Keeping muscles worked, in balance, relaxed and moving toxins out of the body is great for whole body health and wellness. Therapy is always individually based and pressure is always adjusted to patients comfort zone. Therapy can be done by working with patient’s medical doctor(s) or working individually by their selves. Massotherapy is not limited to any particular specific technique, therapy or massages, like most spa massages are; and therapist look for a "good" hurt while performing therapy. A good hurt: should leave the area feeling relieved, increase blood flow, help break up muscle "knots" and make the area feel better and relaxed afterwards. Massotherapy truly gives patients greater relief with any aches, pains, and muscle soreness. Including, problematic areas, medical conditions, injuries [etc]. As well as, helps correct the stereotyping / misconception of massage being only for pampering / luxury.
